In early 2013, newly-elected North Carolina Governor Pat McCrory (R-Duke Energy) wasted no time gutting unemployment benefits. In September 2015 he signed Senate Bill 15, designed to punish unemployed people for existing crack down on fraud.
Karma being a bitch and all, One Term Pat is now experiencing unemployment himself. Apparently when a state passes a law punishing LGBTQ people for existing protecting women and children from a nonexistent threat, people stop wanting to spend money there and the economy gets screwed. If Michael Jordan and NASCAR ain't happy, ain't nobody happy.
The hapless One Term Pat bucked the 2016 GOP wave, losing to Governor Roy Cooper (D) by just over 10,000 votes. Considering he didn't concede for almost a month, it's not surprising that he isn't taking his loss well. He remains baffled that no one wants to hire him, and is using his copious spare time whining on talk shows.
McCrory has been appearing frequently on national media outlets to defend the controversial LGBT law, but he hasn’t announced what’s next for his career. In a podcast interview recently with WORLD, an Asheville-based evangelical Christian news website, McCrory talked about his challenges on the job market.
The former Republican governor says HB2 “has impacted me to this day, even after I left office. People are reluctant to hire me, because, ‘oh my gosh, he’s a bigot’– which is the last thing I am.”

He’s not a bigot, y’all. But wait, there's more. This may be the single most ignorant sentence about gender identity I've ever read (emphasis mine.)
McCrory made the case that the core of the HB2 debate is an attempt to redefine gender. “You ask the doctor if it’s a boy or a girl, you don’t ask the baby,” he said.
I hear Trump’s bringing jobs back to Ohio, Pat. I'll help you pack and drive you home if you promise to stay there.
